Half price deals by category
All 2,753 current half price products, split into 19 categories. The average discount differs quite a bit between them — packaged goods with a high recommended retail price show the largest reductions, staples the smallest.

Dairy
This page lists every dairy product currently reduced to around half price at Coles or Woolworths. Both supermarkets refresh their specials each Wednesday, so the list changes weekly.
Which categories are worth watching?
Not every half price deal is equally useful. The categories that reward attention are the ones where the product is expensive per unit, keeps well, and you buy it on a predictable schedule — health and beauty, personal care, cleaning products and pet food all fit that description. A 50% reduction on a $25 item you were going to buy anyway is $12.50 you keep.
Categories where the discount matters less are the cheap staples and the perishables. Half price on a $1.20 tin is 60 cents; half price on fresh dairy usually means a short date. Neither is a bad buy, but neither justifies a special trip. We go through this in more detail in what to stockpile at half price.
